Search for meaning

Home is just a breath away.
Across the drenched park bench,
Square meters of measured warmth,
Lie hidden behind curtained windows.
Dinners on the table, phones in hand,
Long conversations,
Shared Secrets,
Warm glow of happiness,
No room for loneliness.

Home is just a whisper away,
Just outside my reach. I try to
Hold it but it slips away.
In the relentless rain
That drenches my soul.
Imaginary conversation.
Untold secret.
Soaked to the bone.
But at home, alone.
