The Conqueror WormA poem can make our off-springs or maybe grandchild’s grandchildren rich in one go. You wanna know how. An original manuscript of a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe has recently sold for $300,000 at an auction in Massachusetts in the United States.

It is learnt that the poem was until recently the property of a Rhode Island family since the 1920s. It is believed that the poem “The Conqueror Worm” was composed in the 1830s and is one among more than 100 published by the author. The newspaper also reports on behalf of Chris Semtner, curator of the Edgar Allan Poe Museum in Richmond, Va, who says that the original manuscript was believed to have been lost.

Everyone is surprised by the amount the poem has fetched since auctioneers, claims the newspaper, had expected the item to fetch no more than $20,000.
