Poem: Peppermint Starlight

By: Hana Khalyleh

Starlight

I know a place of pepper moon
Where sunlight streams through cotton clouds
Where snow flakes dance upon your nose
And trees sing shades of green so proud

I know a place where lightning tickles
And thunder’s not allowed to roar
I know where eagles snore in treetops
Where fireflies giggle, foot-steps soar

I see starlight of peppermint
Where hurricanes will often nap
Where dainty butterflies will twinkle
And cocoons of prickly moths unwrap

So join in joy, this mad-man’s ramblings
Evaporating truth for cheer
What good does sterile reason bring you
When only mad-men venture here?
