Richard Bach Publishes Sequel to Illusions as a Kindle Singles Exclusive

IllusionsAmazon.com announced that Richard Bach, best-selling author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Illusions, has published “Illusions II”–a sequel to his 1977 best seller available exclusively in the Kindle Store as a Kindle Single. With over 60 million copies of his books sold, Bach is one of the world’s most beloved authors. His new spiritual memoir is his first comment on his near-death experience in a plane crash in 2012. “Illusions II: The Adventures of a Reluctant Student” is available now in the Kindle Singles Store (www.amazon.com/kindlesingles) for $2.99.

“It’s a thrill to have a writer of Richard’s influence publish his work as a Single,” said David Blum, editor of Kindle Singles. “Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Illusions were iconic books that touched millions of readers. This new Single marks the return of an important American voice.”

“I never planned to write a follow-up to Illusions,” said Richard Bach. “But after I was very nearly destroyed in an accident aboard my seaplane, I wondered if it were not an accident at all, but a test. Kindle Singles gave me the opportunity to share my story immediately.”

Told with the humor, wisdom and insight that readers loved in Illusions, “Illusions II” is Richard Bach’s chronicle of his meetings with spirit guides after his near-death experience from a seaplane crash and a year spent rebuilding himself and his plane. His memoir is a remarkable account of lessons learned from friends and loved ones. Bach writes, “There’s no blessing that can’t be a disaster, and no disaster that can’t be a blessing.”

Kindle Singles celebrated its third anniversary in January with over 500 titles now in the store, including exclusive, original new writing from Stephen King, Christopher Hitchens, Susan Orlean and Nelson DeMille. Kindle Singles are typically between 5,000 and 30,000 words, and include memoir, reporting, fiction and essays that represent compelling ideas expressed at their natural length. Writers can learn more about submitting their work for consideration at www.amazon.com/singlessubmissions.

Like all Kindle books, Kindle Singles are “Buy Once, Read Everywhere”–customers can read them on their Kindle, on the web with Kindle Cloud Reader and on free Kindle reading apps for Android, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Windows 8, PC and Mac.
