They have a saying around here: “red touch yellow, kill a fellow; red touch black, a friend of Jack.” Coral snakes have yellow, red, and black rings. They don’t come out often, but when they do, stay away. Although milk snakes have the same color scheme, their red rings don’t touch the yellow ones. Milk snakes aren’t poisonous, but those colors fool predators into thinking that they are.
