Poem: In the Land of Fire and Ice

By: Mary Bone

firenice

The soft amethyst light
Of early evening,
Peered through my living room drapes.
Adventure was calling my name
In the land of fire and ice.
My heart was melting.
Iceland had a hold on me.
As you held my hand,
We felt a fresh, calm breeze.
Splashes of color were all around,
As we stood by the window.
There were endless views.
Nature really had a party here.
