DIE

The odd die is cast, for it is not of six sides;
only two options will emerge from the drunken roll.

A yes or a zero, no maybe nor perhaps;
The gray areas will be white or they will be black.

The suspense is little, the consequences full of fear,
for the die will fall with the full force of a guillotine.

The outcome will be clean, and it will be certain,
the judgment final, without a chance for appeal.

Life or death, boy or girl, guilty or innocent;
the two sided die may hold treasure as well.

It has fallen to reveal two destinies, win or lose,
and the players may smile or they may frown.
