Of course, there is probably
no way to really prepare.
A string can be tied around
the finger only so many times.
I could run one hundred images,
scenarios through my mind.
The script gets old, tattered, dull,
the pages worn out.
Problem is, I only have so much time,
a number of years to do my worrying.
I don’t know the number of years,
a mystery I’m happy for.
It seems likely that I should learn
to stop over-planning.
The ledger is full of marks, time
to start a new one.
