“Babe, please calm down. Don’t worry you will be fine,” Nathaniel reaffirmed Cindy as he increased his speed to merge onto the freeway.
“That’s easy for you to say. You don’t have to live with diabetes, blood transfusions and along with all the responsibilities I have,” Cindy remarked.
“Hey, relax, you can get through this, I know you can honey.”
“Oh shut up, I can’t take it anymore,” Cindy said as she opened the unlocked door and without thinking jumped, in hopes to escape her misery.
As if time slowed, she saw the hot gravel collide with her head and then darkness.
“Babe, please calm down. Don’t worry you will be fine,” Nathaniel said.
Cindy blinked with confusion and stared downwards.
“What’s wrong hun?”
“Oh nothing, I just wish I didn’t have to go to this blood transfusion appointment,” Cindy replied.
“Hey, relax, you can get through this, I know you can honey.”
Cindy began to think she was insane as she opened the door and jumped out hoping it would work this time. Before she knew it she blacked out.
“Babe, please calm down. Don’t worry you will be fine,” Nathaniel said calmly.
Cindy then started to freak out, “Shut up Nathaniel I hate my life,” Cindy cried as she opened the unlocked door frantically, “You’re going to tell me to relax and that I can get through it. I know.”
“How did you know-” Nathaniel said as Cindy jumped before he could finish his sentence. Cindy knew she was going to hit the pavement with a blackout.
“Cindy wake up! We are going to be late for your dialysis appointment,” Nathaniel said to his napping wife.
The two got into the car, and this time Cindy whispered, “I can do this,” and locked the door securely.
