Search for meaning

By: Mark Kodama

We may believe but do not know
If God is Christian, Muslim or Jew,
Or if He exists only in our minds.
Given the paucity of our knowledge,
Why not give each other the benefit of the doubt
And let each worship as he wills
Without condemnation?
And if we proselytize
Let’s do so with kind words
Rather than guns and bombs.
If God does not exist,
Or He does not hear our cries,
We are going to have,
To make it on our own.
For this we need time,
And each others’ help.
Given the enormity of
Our challenges,
We better start now.
