I love you the way…

By: Riley O’Brien

You simple boy, you inspire me to write.
I love the way you look, talk and inspire,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about my stupid desire.

Let me compare you to an ember?
You are more blazing, furtive and funny.
Strong winds shake the leafage of September,
And autumntime has me bruising bloody.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your peculiar smile and gaze.
How your personality fills my days.
I love the way you give me such simple praise.

Now I must away with a broken heart,
Remember my blind words while we’re apart.
