Search for meaning

Sometimes we learn
from ameliorating television
broadcasts—maybe the sun
snarls more
fatally in contrasted shades
of itself
and you look better today,
now that your clothes
are finally off.
I am still a child

               so I am

  yet to learn

and maybe that’s why I can’t go
to college this fall.
If he kisses me will I bite
back and impel a greater force
or play

the serial erotophobe
and send him out claiming that
I have thirty pages
of neuromuscular transmission to memorize.
