‘Deer In The Yard’ and other poems

By: K. A. Williams

Deer In The Yard

Some deer were
eating grass in my yard.
I tried to take a picture,
but the motion scared them.
They leaped away.
So fast.
So graceful.
So pretty.
I hope they come back.

Cat’s Visit

I was going to pet
the neighbor’s cat
when she came
over for a visit
but she suddenly
sat down,
and scratched herself
furiously
with her hind leg.
Fleas.

Dancing Shadows

The tree leaves
wave
in the breeze while
early morning sunlight
shines
on them,
and their shadows
dance
upon my sheer
window curtains.
