Vikram Seth’s new poetry collection will hit stands in October
Indian poet and novelist Vikram Seth is all set to thrill his fans with his latest collection of poems. His publisher recently revealed that the collection will be released in October this year. The new collection ‘Summer Requiem’ is being published by Aleph Book Company. This is going to be his first standalone collection since 1990 when he had published his ‘All You Who Sleep Tonight”.
A media statement underlined, “Summer Requiem traces the immutable shifting of the seasons, the relentless rhythms of a great world that both ‘gifts and harms. Luminous, resonant and profound, these poems trace the dying days of summer, ‘the hour of rust’ when memory is haunted by loss and decay.”
Seth has five books of poetry, including translations and verse novels like the “The Golden Gate” and “An Equal Music”.
The publisher also stated that the sequel of his acclaimed novel “A Suitable Boy” is scheduled for publication in 2017. Random House had scrapped the contract with the author for his inability to submit the manuscript on time in 2013 for the sequel. Later Aleph acquired its publishing rights in December 2013.
