Poem: Unintentional Destination
By Susi Bocks
this determined path
sometimes
leads to places
of not wanting to be
staying stuck even
my goals are far-reaching
and my ambition is strong
yet, i still find myself
at an unpredicted stop
life is devilish like that
this place i find myself
uncomfortable and draining
yet, oddly familiar
history repeating itself
me, beating myself now
it takes my reserves
devours them whole
leaves me gasping for breath
and power
feeling defeated
my past, my pain
caught up again
the choice of boldness
to do different, to live sane
opting to correct course now
