‘All I Want to Do’ and other poems by Samantha Lizardo
By: Samantha Lizardo
All I Want to Do
I’ll listen to your story
As your soul peeks from your eyes
All I want to do is say hi to you
Oh, dear stranger
I’ll lend you my shoulder
As rivers stream down your cheeks
All I want to do is say I care for you
Oh, my dear friend
I’ll give you my heart
As your smile gives butterflies to my stomach
All I want to do is say I love you
Oh, my dear lover
I’ll walk closer to your shadow
As you take the last train at midnight
All I want to do is say I miss you
Oh, my dearest stranger.

Rocketship
I will fly to the moon when stars go die
Close my eyes, dance as if no one can see
Three, two, one, take off from the world of lie
Sleepless nights accompanied by loose whys
Homeland can’t hear me pleading on my knee
I will fly to the moon when stars go die
The sky losing its gleam, I look up high
Fading and vanished – only hope for glee
Three, two, one, take off from the world of lie
Voyage for the truth ends up in a sigh
Floating in the ocean, low and empty
I will fly to the moon when stars go die
Let the pen bleed ink until it goes dry
Writing letters of farewell and apology
Three, two, one, take off from the world of lie
Singing me don’t go, you gazed in my eye
Tomorrow’s dim, will you still come with me?
I will fly to the moon when stars go die
Three, two, one, take off from the world of lie

Pieces of Datum
You saw a whisper
and let it prosper
You heard the light
and kept it bright
You smelled the trauma
of falling from the canopy
You felt the aroma
of the sweetest recipe
You tasted the consciousness
in the brackets of spitefulness
You thought of a confection
in the kingdom of detestation
For some it’s a muddle
words drowned by a puddle
For you it’s a cipher
digested in a supper
