A winter morning
Sunshine fills crispy, clean air
Snow is on the ground

Fighting off the cold
People bundled to the neck
Hats and scarves and gloves

Frozen hands and feet
Time for a hot chocolate break
When will winter end

Winter’s frozen lakes
Skating and ice-boat racing
Fishing through a hole

Trudging through the snow
Finding a path leading home
Weary of winter

February snows
Days of frost and bitter cold
Time to bring on spring

Bursts of arctic chill
Mounds of snow change the terrain
When will winter end

It’s snowing again
Forecasts call for snow and rain
When will winter end

Last gasps of winter
Below zero Fahrenheit
Waiting for spring days
