Search for meaning

Thou, a shade that dwells ‘neath moonlit skies,
Thy face a mist, lost in the winds of time,
Thou comest when silence doth rise,
And shadows of night stretch o’er my rhyme.

Oft thou appearest in the darkened veil,
When solitude whispers soft to my soul,
Thy sword strikes deep, yet I prevail,
For in thy embrace, I seek to be whole.

The air doth freeze, yet my body doth burn,
With thoughts of thee, like a fever’s embrace.
O’er frozen lands my heart doth yearn,
To rest in thy arms, a tender space.

Thy touch, a dream, a fleeting breath,
That echoes softly ‘gainst this heart so torn,
In thy shadow, I find my death,
Yet in thy love, I am reborn.

Thou, a fiction, thou art real to me,
A tale unwritten, yet forever known.
Tho distance parts us, I feel thee,
In every breath, thy essence is shown.
