Poem: A volcano

By: Debasis Tripathy

Vengeance she seeks.
The agony of being dormant,
The anxiety, the insult.
A breath of fresh air is all she desires.

The force from within,
The disquietude, the suppression,
Pregnant with a wild expectation,
She disobeys, she wants to erupt.

The people in need,
The orphan, the weed,
The rich, the broke.
All unaware, catching some sleep.

Oozes out
Plasma, red and hot.
Out she comes, breaking the chains.
Freedom is all she hunts.

Like a river she flows,
Melts boils and burns.
The agony and the fear.
And finally a handful of embers,
Is all she is!
