Search for meaning

Happiness, what is that even? And more importantly, how do you gain it?

Some would say happiness can be found in buying a new, expensive car, or a bigger house. Others would say it is important to find a new romantic love interest. But is this truly happiness? And if you don’t have this, does that mean you can’t be happy?

How many people truly believe it’s in the little things? I often hear people say it, but I rarely see someone picking up a flower, smelling it, and enjoying it.

‘Happiness is a choice,’ also a commonly known cliche, but I hardly ever see someone getting very angry, and then suddenly realising he should be happy.

The quote that stuck with me is: ‘Happiness is only real when shared.’
Chris McCandless, the writer of this quote, realised this when he traded in society for the Alaskan wilderness. Soon after this realisation, he passes away.

So go up the people you love, your friends and family, while you can. Give them a hug, tell them you appreciate them.
