‘I Unveil the Veil’ and other poems
By: Sushant Thapa
I Unveil the Veil
The evening has a voice,
It speaks in promises,
But I want no dawn
To lift its veil,
Today, I want to get drunk
With the nectar
From the evening’s delight,
In semi darkness.
The river was once
A weeping bride,
I take up the pleasure
Not to lift
Your veil,
Again.
The sorrow bird
Sings in the hidden darkness,
Yet, the melody
Needs no heavy heart.
So, I unveil the veil
As the evening gets
Ripened.
My choices get drunk too.
Added Page
The weight to be someone
Is dawning on you.
The weight to remain yourself
Is dusking on you.
Even the eyes set at rest
When the sun sets for best.
There is always tomorrow
That knows the rest.
Being the future
Makes you restless.
Passion cannot wait
To reveal itself.
I realize
That real eyes
Do not lie,
The way you open up
When we meet,
Is an added page
To my story.
I see myself
In your eyes.
Somewhere
It pains
Deep inside,
Where nobody lives
Except you.
You are not mistaken,
My agony
Is a person,
Or, so to say,
Absence of a person
Somewhere
Out there.
