Poem: Difference demolished
By: Sunil Sharma
In a fluid world away from this one of stricter boundaries
float creatures otherwise denied and banished from the
kingdom of the Homo sapiens, the ones evolved
the varied specimens interact in a scene not possible real-time
but it is art that liberates and asetheticises the possibilities of the inter-species communication in a milieu fabulous, seen by only an artistic eye.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
Here:
in the liberal space—
stand grouped a trio of satyr, bald Neanderthal and a bearded dwarf with pointed ears, mixing realism with fable, for a tech-driven age, relying on the CGI and plastic imagination
the three subjects co-exist peacefully, despite looking dis-similar
the Other is creatively dissolved in the pantheon of the odds!
a celebration of life and varieties in a painterly landscape
the familiar—strange
the strange—familiar.
that is the alchemy of art.
