Poem: Dirty Laundry
By: Amy Robles
I am a blanket
hugging you while you cry.
I keep you warm,
and tell you it’ll be alright.
I sleep next to you
and keep you in my arms
from sunset to sunrise,
providing comfort on the loneliest of nights.
In the morning you say you want to stay
and I’m hoping you won’t turn away.
Now I’m a deserted island, lost and alone.
Please, come back.
You left me with crumbs and stains.
You left me with puddles of drool.
You left me with tears and sorrows.
You always leave me.
