Search for meaning

By: Alan Berger

Why not tell me
All about your troubles
And I’ll tell you
All about mine
Then
We could do something
Or nothing About them
Some other time

Why not tell me
What you have been through
And I’ll tell you How I got through
But first
Answer me this
Were your eyes
Always this blue?

We can talk
About your last marriage
The Hell and the wail
Or we can talk
About the Heavenly days
I spent in jail
Either way
Your hair looks very nice today

And

The world is
Full of problems
There is plenty
For us to solve

But

Your perfume
And your loveliness
Are keeping me uninvolved

So

What do you say
I think it would be OK
I mean
Why not save the world
some other day
