A Morning Walk With My Dog

By: Bruce Levine

Winter chill at the river edge
Water racing over embedded rocks
Snow white curls on the flowing tide
A morning walk with my dog

Sunlight glaring off the water’s surface
Refracted light making pools of color
Ghosts of shadows line the rock bound shore
A morning walk with my dog

Grassy knolls along the river walk
Paths carved of red brick byways
Signs and arrows that point the way
A morning walk with my dog

Time spent in the cool crisp air
Sun streaming through silken clouds
A reverie forged in golden daydreams
A morning walk with my dog
