auras
By: Amanda Weir-Gertzog
awake again
circa 4am
sweat rivulets
glisten my skin
slick to the touch
breathing rushed
a postmenopausal
painted blush
aura cherry red
flashbang my head
knocking sleep’s door
onto nightmares bed
rest often remains
a memory, estranged
somnambulance
my brain unchained
