Just Like It Was Tomorrow
By: Alan Berger
My memories
Threw me my hat
Showed me the door
They said I was not needed there anymore
They are right
I have to admit it
I am only as good as my next minute
The bad past along with the good
I spent too much time
In those rundown neighborhoods
Still climbing mountains
Along with the walls
Looking for the pumps
Before my engine finally stalls
Tomorrow believes all my promises
Tomorrow believes all my dreams
Tomorrow always believes in me
Today is a clock
With an armed guard roadblock
Today never ends
With rules that never bend
I’ll wait for the extasy
Even in the loop of a twenty four eternity
