‘Walk out in the sun’ and other spring haiku

By Jim Bates

Walk out in the sun
Bend down to smell a flower
Joy of being alive.

Warm bright sun shining
New plants turning toward the light
Happily growing.

Supermoon rising
Eastern sky glowing dreamlike
Lunar light sublime.

Distant thunder rolls
Kettle-drum pounding prelude
Symphony of rain.
