The lethargy of summer lessens
As fall breezes begin to arrive
Subtle changes
Marking off days on the calendar
Yet roses bloom and trees stay green
A lovely time
Filled with expectation
Fall festivals highlighting the season
Transitions of time and place
Symphonies of light and shade
As the metamorphosis toward winter
Slowly takes place
The fall awakening
The glow of the fall palette
Harmonies of color painting landscapes
In the cool hues of autumn
Reading under a tree
And basking in a golden afternoon
As time holds the hand of the season
And fall beckons the year to move on
Helping conjure up feelings connected
To this time of year
And the glories of fall
