Search for meaning

By: James Aitchison

The placid day belies its chaos:
a giant web of conflicted men.
Only the eternal reality
remains absolute: men dwell
on an earthly plane,
through a series of lives,
one following the other,
to seek all that which is beautiful.
Only through a soul at peace
will you find immortality.
No soul can be shaped by human hand.
Only in the silence will truth
impart its answers.
The one ambition is the peace
that comes with wisdom.
Be ambitious in this respect:
Seek wisdom, and in its seeking,
find love.
