Poem: Baptized

By: Mark Williams

Baptized

Baptized in flames
Of fire restrained
Me a love went up in smoke
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
The Lord sent her away.
Baptized in flames
Heart burning in flames
Heat spreading, surrounded me
Dark smoke flies
Dead or alive
I’d nearly died,
But somehow love went by.
Baptized in pain
I’d never been the same
Love was blind left me behind,
Scares, burns whole heart decay.

Baptized in flames
I cannot stand the pain
Love went and came
Dealt from above

Restrictions, heartache heart attack,
Broken heart, lingering pain,
Heart break hotel
All is not well she said
Fair-well now I am in hell.
