Poem: Una Vida Sin Amor
By: Brenna Deane
The dark moon, a burnt out light bulb
A translucent orb of molding cheese
Cool light, sour life, quiet hum, dusty surface, bitter aroma
Wide eyes absorb the gentle melody
Armstrong’s first step into Space
The bright light streaming
illuminating
the
world
The last song
Laddies and their gals dance
He talks to her-
He must love her
Boys pick on the girls they secretly like
The first kiss of young love
Kiss in the rain:
freezing
senseless
numb
Floating on a balloon towards the moon
Begging to come back down
Oncoming heartbreak,
tears stream
Blackened roses
Pain is healthy for the soul
Una vida sin amor
The moon’s quiet, gentle embrace
Sad smile as she hums her haunting tune
A wonderful poem with all of the yearning of love gained and love lost.
