Poem: Partners in rhyme
By: Debleena Majumdar
You open your bag, take out
Alphabets, values, rules,
Hoping time will not wash away,
The unspoken teachings on the sand.
You show her the stars, protect
Her from those invisible scars,
She runs with you,
Tiny fingers holding on to your hand
Her smile brings a new tune,
To your heart; she paints
Your lost memories all over again,
Time shifts, tide turns.
Her questions bring back reason,
In a world cluttered with doubt, till
One day she joins you in your song,
And then who teaches, who learns?
