Poem: Ode To The Midnight Meanderer
By: Paulo Lorenzo L. Garcia
Her mind meanders
Through fair and starless clime
And may no other thought keep hither
Than the taste of love sublime
This moment’s preoccupation
A Feat no man’s control
But to savor sorrow and passion
At the same time
Does rave a heart of oak
It is a brilliant measure
This escapist tendency
from which we take pleasure
warps the vacancy
undue of a wealthy mind
So Go! I bid you leave of this world
And into the glaring sun
And if this fanciful reverie can long endure
I nurse no envy
For I am sure
That wherever your mind dwells
In vivid dreams
Or in a starless keep
To you, my love
My cup I yield
