Poem: Wanderlust
By: Paulo Lorenzo L. Garcia
By the cliff overlooking the sea
Where the waters lick the sand
My shadow is cast
Stretching out its invisible hand
The weather is fair
But my fickle friends are leaving
Coaxed by wanton winds, ever endearing
The sea withdraws from the dry, deserted shore
Leaving it in a state of shamed undress
With wanderlust abound, all the birds set off
Pecking shore after shore
Soaring over sea after sea
Yet the waves and the tides wane
For even the most promising friendships
Sometimes drown in the fluidity of time
Just as the sea reaches forth then withdraws
Where does all the time go?
