Poem: Clown

By: Balu George

There are trees with auras and slow trains with character.
Strawberry jams which delight, and thunderclaps, thunderclaps!
Earth, sky, fire, wind, water.
There are fast cars which gun down the road,
And chubby babies who smell of talcum powder.
There is that smile that tear and that scream.

We have surrendered!

Then why the anguish, the sorrow, the suffering, age upon age, why?

We acknowledge your wizardry, your wisdom and your joke.

Reveal yourself! You crazy wisecracking Clown!
For God’ sake, Please!
