Search for meaning

By: Sheila Henry

I am well, thank you
You asked me
How am I doing
In times when I could not find my way
You rose beyond the clouds
And made yourself into the moon
To give light to my darkened path
You opened your eyes
And revealed the stars
Dropping a twinkle to give me hope
You spread your wings open
And I fell into a meadow
Only lavender my eyes could see
I lie in its beauty
The fragrance sticks to my skin
I shed a tear of joy that filled the lake
I sit still by the waters and think of you
You restore my soul
All is well—you’ve brought me this far
I am well. Thank you for asking.
