Lovely deceit
By Kenya Jimenez
A love story,
I thought it would be.
The ending unveiling
my reality.
From beginning to end
It was all deceit.
Felt the butterflies
in my stomach and sparks
when we first kissed,
the cliché,
you know how it is.
Powerful and wonderful
lover you were,
yet a wave of uncertainty,
an uneasiness washed
over my body.
These feelings,
I questioned, explored,
and pondered them,
figuring out
your intentions.
While I kissed your mouth,
and held your hand,
you were thinking of someone else.
Thanks to my sixth sense,
my gift of wisdom,
I ran and did not look back.
