Search for meaning

By: Bruce Levine

Life often takes
Twists and turns
Profusion of desires
Or goals yet defined
Passions aroused
By inflated egos
Pretentious praise
Unwanted and under-fed
Successes dismantled
Like simple equations
The highways forgotten
Roads erased from maps
A simple rejoinder
When life seems dismembered
A salve to the soul
Or simply a laugh
The times to remember
Come hither or yonder
Emblazoned on doorways
In bold letters red
Sing happy in spite of
The twists and the turns
They may be life’s hiccups
Or bumps in the road
So always remember
This simple solution
When in doubt
Have a steak
