‘Haunted Love’ and other poems

By Mary Bone

Haunted Love

Our eyes met across a crowded room.
You had smoky azure tints with a gleam,
reminding me of a blustery sky.
I had never known such intensity.
Today I am still haunted by our love.
We have traveled light years since then.

Lighthouse by the Sea

We were haunted by crashing waves
against the rocks, in the lighthouse by the sea.
Our hearts were intertwined during the turmoil.
Driving by the lighthouse years later,
Many memories of our first love,
Came flooding back.

Mint Julip Tea

Sitting on the porch
drinking Mint Julip tea
a bee buzzes over a tulip
blooming just for me.
