Search for meaning

By: Dr. Charles Gibson

O peace, where art thou?

Seek me out as a prize, in
the midst of a plate, observed
by one who hungers for fulfillment.
Take hold of me, like a memorized
lover, infatuated with my very presence.
Grip me, O peace, as a puppy, steadfastly
attached to their estate owner.

Upon our initial meeting, I promise
to embrace thee swiftly with the
utmost sincerity … although the
likelihood of us making contact
is highly unlikely.
