poem of water

I have written one
Unique poem of water
Plucked out a lotus from water
Red lotus
Whom to give this water-lotus
This poem
There was one to give,
He had an urge to leave
And he has gone,
Like the birds of winter
Like the water-stricken sailors.

With a poem, water-lotus
In hand,
I stand waiting
A dumb great idiot!

Taslima Nasrin, noted Bangladeshi poet, novelist. She is much known for his feminist and humanist ideology. The present poem is taken from her collection of poems ‘Jal Padya.’ (Poems of Water)
