beautyandBeast

oh, yes, vilify me
vilify me
you are the white knight
trying to save me
yes, the white knight
and oh woe is you sweet saint
you could not save the
demon from
herself!
i’m sure that’s the picture your
mother’s painting of me
she was always
a good liar
guess that’s where you get your
silver tongue, little liar,
and you destroyed me with a smile
without care
crushed me in your palm
like i was a spider;
you praise God you can’t remember,
and I praise God you’re
gone—
i gave you the power to destroy me,
and you did without thought
of the consequences of me
i fell
crushed, abandoned, and alone
i thought my heart
would never stop bleeding love songs for you
i loved you; i hated you, too—
but one day i woke up and i didn’t hurt anymore
i didn’t hate you either but i wasn’t in love
with the man that destroyed
me, either,
i was beauty without gaston;
and i smiled
because i knew out there somewhere
my beast was waiting for me
someday
he’ll cure my heart of all the
ill
you caused.
