No Place Like Home
By: Don Tassone
Ever since she was a little girl, Stella’s favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz.
But her favorite part of that movie wasn’t the characters or costumes or special effects. It was its most famous line: “There’s no place like home.”
For Stella, the thing that so resonated about that line wasn’t its popularity. It was its truth.
Like a lot of kids, Stella was told what to do. And as she grew up, like everyone, she was told what to believe.
In order to be popular.
In order to succeed.
In order to get right with God.
But Stella always listened to her inner voice. She knew that voice would never lead her astray.
And at the end of her long life, Stella went home, where she, like Dorothy, had been all along.
