Poem: succubus

By: Linda M. Crate

SUCCUBUS

you’re a loaded
god complex
cocked and pulled
shot me straight through
the heart,
and my stained glass
soul is still
reeling in the silver of
your melancholy;
giving love a bad name
because the only
chess game
you’ll play is lust—
lulled me into a
false sense of security
just so you could
destroy me
because to you this was
all a game,
but i gave you my
heart;
slivered and silver
cold and remote
you are the moon’s
child
a winter’s kiss
bluing the lips of
innocence until you’ve
taken all their warmth away,
succubus.

    • Hi, I`ll keep it short. So basically, I`m someone who roams the world looking for stories, and you seem like someone with quite a number of stories. I`d like to chat with you if you don`t mind, I`m interested in understanding what you believe in. After I found out about Meridiana`s case I acquired an interest in lady spirits or succubi. It may be true that I don`t believe in these entities you mention, but I`ve seen my share of stuff that`d invite anyone less stubborn than a donkey to believe in whatever makes sense.
