Poem: Mount Sinai
By: Milt Montague
eyes closed
completely relaxed
comfortably ensconced
in recliner, feet raised
air conditioning hummms
ready for my next adventure
floating up and away
a thrill runs down my spine
embarking upon a new experience
I enter a vortex of time
and space to
emerge
in an….
immense desert
at the foot of a mountain
a huge group of people
some of them wildly
dancing around
a shiny statue
a man walks down the mountain
in his arms a large stone
with ancient writing
he stops
hurls curses
at the dancers
smashes stone tablet
a thunderbolt
cleaves the ground
swallowing the statue
and all off it’s worshippers
the rest watch in abject horror
and Moses goes back up the mountain
