‘Captured’ and other poems

By: Roger G. Singer

CAPTURED

moonlight
on the drift
of your face

pauses to gaze
the beauty

as your hand
shields the
fountains ablaze
within your eyes
from a moon
jealous of
your youthful
heart

###

BELOW

strong gravestone

name, date, a story

moss and lichen
compete for space

withered flowers

sun and night
have their way

seasons
fight the stone
where it stands

regardless of the
death below

###

A LARGE QUIET

smokey words
fanned awake
a pocket
of wishes

forming the
pulp of
all stories

from the paths
of youth’s short
years of seasons

like
fingers of rain
dripping down
window glass
