‘Life’s Autumn’ and other poems
By: Pramod Rastogi
Life’s Autumn
As we walked side by side
Across the landscapes of hindsight,
She with the moon upon her left,
And I with the sun upon my right.
The moon glowed turquoise blue,
The waning sun burned crimson red,
Yet peace lay softly between us
In that slow, consenting twilight.
We walked hand in hand,
Toward the isle of our foresight,
Where we had staked our tender dreams,
Heedless of the tempests of our fancies,
To live our days beneath the falling dusk,
In harmony with the misty veils
Drawn over the new world’s edge,
That beckoned us to its mysterious land.
Melody and Mind
Silent, my dream hums low,
A sanctuary where shadows glow.
Fervent, my mind races away,
Lost in the grind of a restless day.
To bridge the chasm, vast and wide,
The dream sings songs, a soothing tide.
Soft whispers of hope begin to weave,
A melody the heart can believe.
But the mind, stubborn, clings to pain,
Seeking answers in a ceaseless refrain.
Yet in the clash, a balance is born,
A dawn renewed from a night forlorn.
Harmony rises, gentle and kind,
Where melody cradles the aching mind.
Together they shape a peaceful stream,
Mending the soul with a shared dream.
