Ghosts and goblins
Shadows interfered
By vestiges of days gone past
That hover in the atmosphere

Posted on each doorstep
Children beware
This house is filled with creatures
That waken in the night
Parading on their journey
Like tempests to create fright

Hurricanes happen
A vortex in space
Or is it swarms of demons
Who leave without a trace
Of horror perpetrated
On mortals after dark
Or children who dream of candy
Determined to embrace
The spirit of All Hallows
Without the fear prepared
To march along the pathways
And challenge those who dare
To try to instill terror
So ghosts and goblins beware
Go and have your own party
To celebrate Halloween
The tables could get turned
Mortals remain seen

Your time of moving onward
Like zombies from the grave
To terrify with encounters
And nightmares that behold
Your ghoulish manifestations
Of legends retold

Halloween happens
Once a year it’s said
But Halloween mem’ries
Can live in daily dread
