‘Outside’ and other poems
By: Samo Kreutz
outside
the cloud rehearses
a language
older than asphalt whispers
the sighs of houses
and the breaths of streetcars
reminding me
that absence
is only a breeze I carry in my ears
river
patience
flows with the river
and its
polished stones
softened
into the ancient script
not above
we walk
beneath scattered stars
bright as our breaths
until we realize
the sky is not above
but woven
inside our lungs –
waiting to be exhaled again
